Our program is set up in 1 hour - 1.5 hour long sessions. Each child is matched up with one volunteer for their session. Together they choose what they will do for that day. Activities include basic horse care, grooming, tacking up, ground work, lunging and riding. Activities also include socializing animals and helping the horses with what they need. We also have Alpacas, Chickens, Turkeys, a Peacock, three Pigs, a Cat, and a dog for the children to interact with and care for. Sometime during their session they will do a small chore to learn to give back. It may be weeding, feeding chickens, sweeping, moving rocks from grass, cleaning tack, watering flowers, or scrubbing water buckets, among many other chores that need to be done to maintain the farm.
